BevOS: the off-shop counter, in Bengali

BevOS is a new point of sale from F&Bos for FL off shops in West Bengal. It is built for the salesman at the counter, Bengali by default with no typing on the sell path, and for the owner who needs the daily sheet to match the shelf. বিক্রি, স্টক আর দিনের হিসাব — এক জায়গায়।

Why it matters

The counter decides whether the books are right

In a West Bengal off shop the evening rush is the whole day's business, the salesman may not read English, and the owner often is not at the counter. Most liquor software is built the other way round: inventory and reports first, a billing screen designed for someone who reads English and types a search.

BevOS starts at the counter. A sale is category, brand and size in Bengali, scanned or tapped, and never blocked by the network or a missing scan. The daily sheet follows from those sales, so the closing number the owner sees, and the register the excise office receives, come from what actually happened at the counter.

What BevOS v1 does

Built for the counter, the owner and the excise register

COUNTER

A sell screen in Bengali

Bengali by default, Hindi and English one tap away. Category colour, brand tile, size button: no typing to make a sale.

SIZES

নিপ / হাফ / ফুল

Sizes show the ml and the words used at the counter, Nip, Half and Full, in big numerals with a bottle outline.

SCAN

Scan or tap, never stuck

Barcode and hologram QR scanning. A bottle sold by tap is flagged to fix before day close, so the counter never stops.

OFFLINE

Offline-first

Sells through a full day without internet and syncs in the background. Up to three counters in one shop stay in step.

SHEET

The daily sheet, done right

Opening + received − sold = should-be. The salesman types the shelf count; mismatches turn red before the day closes.

OWNER

Owner control from the phone

A WhatsApp summary at close with cash, UPI, variances and low stock, and OTP approval for discounts, cancellations and price changes.

How it works

From receipt to day close

STEP 1

Receive stock

Record stock against the Bevco pass by scanning or photographing it, then confirm the cartons.

STEP 2

Sell

Scan the bottle or tap category, brand and size. Cash or UPI, with the change shown large.

STEP 3

Count and close

Type the shelf count; fix red rows or record an owner-approved variance; close the day.

STEP 4

Report

The owner gets the WhatsApp summary, and the day's records go into the daily and monthly excise registers.

Questions

Common questions

Is BevOS available now?

BevOS is in pilot with FL off shops in West Bengal. Features are being rolled out to pilot shops in stages; ask us what is live today and how to join early access.

Which states does BevOS support?

West Bengal only. BevOS is built deep for one state's excise practice rather than lightly for many.

Does my salesman need to read English?

No. The sell screen is in Bengali by default, with Hindi and English one tap away, and a sale needs no typing: category, brand, then size.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. BevOS is built to sell through a full trading day with no connection and sync when the network returns. Printing works locally too.

Does BevOS connect to WB Excise ePos?

BevOS records every sale with its hologram serial and produces the daily and monthly registers. How it hands data to ePos, whether by direct connection or by export, is being finalised during the pilot.

Does BevOS place orders on eBevco?

No. The indent planner suggests cases from your sales and the cash you have, and prepares an indent sheet in eBevco's order. You log in and place the order on eBevco yourself.
