What You Need
- The payout/settlement statements for the period (downloadable from both partner portals as spreadsheets).
- Your own order log for the same period — from your POS or, failing that, the order history in the partner app.
- Your partner agreement (for the contracted commission rate and penalty terms).
The Six Checks
1. Order-Count Match
Orders you fulfilled vs orders on the statement. Every fulfilled order missing from the statement is money owed to you.
2. Commission-Rate Check
Deducted commission ÷ order value on 10 sample orders. It should equal your contracted rate; campaign periods and category changes sometimes shift it silently.
3. Refund and Cancellation Debits
For each debit, check the case: was the cancellation genuinely your fault under the agreement's terms? Dispute the ones that weren't — there is a dispute process, and it works better with order IDs and timestamps.
4. Discount Attribution
Restaurant-funded discount total vs what you actually enrolled in. Blanket enrolments you didn't intend show up here.
5. GST and TCS Lines
Match the platform's GST-on-fees and TCS deductions against your GSTR-2A/2B. Mismatches cost you input credit; your CA needs these statements monthly, not at year-end.
6. Bank Match
Statement net payable vs what actually hit the bank, cycle by cycle. Timing gaps are normal; permanent gaps are not.
What Owners Typically Find
Doing this for the first time on 3–6 months of statements, owners commonly recover or correct 0.5–2% of aggregator revenue: wrongly-debited refunds, unintended discount enrolments, and GST mismatches are the usual finds.
On ₹3–4 lakh a month of aggregator sales, that is ₹1,500–8,000 a month — for an hour's work.
Make It Automatic
The spreadsheet method works. Its weakness is that it happens monthly and after the fact. When your POS records every aggregator order with its commission at order time, reconciliation stops being an investigation and becomes a report you glance at — any gap between recorded orders and the settlement statement surfaces by itself.
Track Every Order Automatically
F&Bos Pro records every Zomato and Swiggy order with its commission at order time, showing you what each aggregator order actually earned.
